PILONIDAL CYST

The pilonidal cyst (a hair containing cavity) most often develops:

-In young men

-Due to an infected hair follicle

-Near the tailbone, in the crease at the upper part of the buttocks.

Signs and symptoms of an abscess are local pain +++, redness and discharge.
Antibiotic treatment usually provides relief to the patient by removing the infection, but the cyst will return until it is completely removed.

Surgery is therefore almost always necessary in order to remove the entire lesion (cyst and fistula path) to the bone (posterior face of the sacrum).

This procedure is performed in a clinic, on an outpatient basis and under local anesthesia.

The main problem remains healing, which is always long (several weeks), requiring local dressings every day or every two days, but the healing is definitive.

HEMORRHOIDS

These are varicose veins of the anus. They cause bleeding and pain. They only get worse over time, with constipation, overeating and pregnancy among other factors.

They initially require medical treatment, but at a certain stage they can only be cured with a surgical procedure. This procedure has a bad reputation, but new techniques are as effective and much less restrictive and painful.

The procedure can be performed on an outpatient basis.
